Mega Match Play Madness (MADNESS) | Official Rules
1. Tournament Format & Eligibility

Scratch Competition: The MADNESS is a pure scratch event. No handicaps or average-based divisions will be used.

Eligibility Restrictions: The following bowlers are ineligible to compete:

Any bowler ranked in the PBA Top 50 in points during 2025 or 2026.

Any bowler who has won a PBA National Title in 2025 or 2026.

Divisions: Participants must register for one of four divisions:

Seniors: Ages 50+ (as of Sept 7, 2026).

Two-Handers: (both hands are on the ball throughout the backswing)

One-Handers

Open: Any eligible bowler may enter this division. However, any bowler who held PBA Membership in 2025 or 2026 must compete in the Open Division.

2. Entry Fees & Deadlines
Fees include a $50 administrative deduction for tournament expenses (lineage, streaming, advertising, staff travel, etc.). The balance is allocated directly to the prize fund. Send Zelle payments to 434-227-0205.

3. Equipment Specifications

Approved Ball: Participants are restricted to using one (1) SKILL 3.02 bowling ball (13lb, 14lb, or 15lb) for all MADNESS competition and sweepers.

Backup Ball: Bowlers may bring two SKILL 3.02 balls to the event. However, the second ball may only be put into play if the Tournament Director deems the first ball irreparably damaged.

Balance & Holes:

Static Balance: Max Side/Finger/Thumb weight is 1 oz; Max Top/Bottom weight is 3 oz.

Hole Limits: Maximum of five (5) holes. All holes must be used by the same hand.

Orientation: Non-thumb bowlers must have a "+" engraved to mark palm position. If a thumb hole exists, the thumb must be inserted, or the palm must cover the hole.

Compliance: The MADNESS reserves the right for its staff to drill a small balance hole to bring any non-compliant ball into weight specifications.

4. Player Conduct, Gear & Dress Code

Sportsmanship: Competitors and spectators will display good sportsmanship and mutual respect. Those failing to do so will be asked to leave the bowling center.

Lofting: Out of respect for the host center, balls may not be lofted past the arrows.

Wrist Devices: Rigid supports (metal, plastic, or padded) are prohibited. Non-rigid gloves and wrist tape are permitted.

Dress Code:

Main Event: PBA/PWBA-approved attire is mandatory.

Sweepers: Casual attire (T-shirts, jeans, shorts) is permitted.

Branding: Staff players are encouraged to wear their respective brand jerseys.

5. Legal & Administrative

Refunds: No refunds will be issued after August 1, 2026. Entries are transferable to another eligible bowler within the same division.

Cancellations: If the event is canceled due to Force Majeure (Act of God, war, etc.), 100% of entry fees will be refunded.

Media Rights: Entry grants Killer ‘B’ Promotions (KBP) the right to use the bowler’s name, likeness, and scores for promotional and broadcast purposes.

Ownership: The MADNESS is owned by KBP. "Match Play Madness" is a federally registered trademark (Serial #98454930). All Tournament Director decisions are final.
